AirPrint not working after iOS 17 Update

Read your resume and it all makes good sense. As a detailed point, Bonjour (AirPrint) works over Ethernet as well as WiFi.

Bought a new iPhone yesterday, I can print to my 12 year old laser with original firmware on it. 😁

the fuc….. apple developers make this ios worse and broke airprint function, apple support not helped me and routed to samsung support. How can somone can broke something and pointing another to fix it.

Thank you for this suggestion. After spending hours this morning trying to get my Canon MF232w printer to work with my i-phone this suggestion worked! Darn software updates that always mess with my brain.

I can't print from my iphone after updating to iOS 17. I wish I hadn't. I have a Samsung printer that's no longer supported so I can't update firmware. I tried restarting everything (printer, phone, router) but that didn't work. I don't have VPN set up or antivirus on my phone. I can print from my macbook but this really inconvenient to not be able to print from my phone.

Has anyone with a Samsung printer found a solution? I'd rather not put my printer in a landfill. It worked fine with iOS 16. Apple, can you fix this please? I don't need the useless updates with iOS 17 (like "posters" for contacts.).

After recent updates my phone doesn’t respond to print, save files and more while my iPad can. We’ve rebooted phone, WiFi and printer several times. When I click on a photo that I want to save in files or print, I click on print and nothing happens.

My Brother printer will not connect to my iPhone since the latest upgrade. If so many people are having this problem it is clearly an apple screw up. They need to fix it fast. We need to use our printers.

This last upgrade messed up so many things that I need to use. The printer is just the newest thing I found. Whoever did this upgrade and whoever approved it should be fired.

A lot of suggestions to update printer firmware. I wish I could but sadly my Samsung/HP printer hasn't seen an update in ages. Somewhat annoying for an expensive printer/scanner bought only 5 years ago. So I'm stuck with the inability to print from iOS unless the issues is fixed by Apple.

I didn't know the reason why AirPrint broke is because a much needed security update, thanks for the info. The thing is that the printer is perfect for my needs (light printing/scanning docs from time to time) so probably won't replace it until it physically breaks. The printer doesn't have Internet access but this would one more reason to put it behind a VLAN.

My HP printer stopped working on the IOS 17! Thought it was the fault of the printer. I got a new HP printer but it didn’t work as well. It recognised the printer after I downloaded the HP App from the Apple Store, but I cannot print because it always shows the printer offline! It’s frustrating. Both the iPad, iMac and iPhone doesn’t recognise the printer.

For us it is not AirPrint that is the issue. We print solely over wi-fi. Before iOS update 17 we could print anything from our iPhones and iPads. That is myself and my wife’s iphones and iPads. 4 devices.

After iOS 17 we can still print everything EXCEPT photos from all of these Apple devices. Why is this?

We have found a workaround in that if we copy a photo to a “notes” page and print the note it will print the photo on the note.

Not an ideal situation.

I guess over 1,500 people are also experiencing this so it's good to know I'm in good company. I'm surprised this hasn't been fixed in the many number of iOS 17 updates so far.

I have a Brother Laser printer and it stopped working after iOS 17. The firmware has been updated. The printer is hard wired to the same network as my iPhone.

I have an HP 4155 printer and all was working great before iOS 17. I just turned off my Norton VPN and browser VPN, turned my printer off and back on, and and re-booted my phone, but nada. Airprint still dimmed out with No printer selected, which of course it is. Anyone else have an idea

None of it fixed my problem permanently. After turning everything on/off it worked once. The second time it printed blank pages. Then it stopped working completely. Software updated on both printers and all sharing the same network. I do not use VPN and it is disabled. I do not use Norton.

Why can't Apple fix the iOS 17 AirPrint problem since it's obvious there are so many of us in this forum plus thousands no doubt everywhere else?? I appreciate Lawrence Finch's AirPrint Troubleshooting page but why should we have to try to go thru his 13 point list to fix THEIR problem. I have tried to follow his list but my Norton VPN automatically comes back on even tho I have Auto Disconnect turned off! So I give up!!

C'mon Apple!!

Epson has no updates for either one of my printers. WF 3720 and WF-7710. I followed all your suggestions more than once. The air print will work once or twice and then stop. Guess I should direct my ire to Epson.
