Reminders App / List Type missing

The "List Type" option doesn't show within "Reminders" on my iphone. Does anybody know the root cause? I'm on iOS 17

My device is on English (UK) and is updated to 17.1.2. I only managed to 'fix' this last night.

I just saw on an apple article that it has to be an iCloud email, any other email won't work.

In settings I went to --> iCloud (by clicking Apple ID on top), then I clicked on iCloud again, then in the section " Apps using icloud" I clicked "show all", and enabled the on switch for Reminders.. Hope this helps.

This is not a bug , this is a sloppy work from Apple. Which they have been aware of since they released iOS17.

Apple frequently rolls out features for some languages and regions later. Neither you know I know why. iOS 17 was released less than two months ago. Have some patience.

Yes of course I can have patience. I just think it is rather stupid to market this "great" function as the big innovative function, when they aren't even capable to provide it in any other languages than English. Guess their marketing department missed the fact that the majority of the inhabitants on this planet live in countries with other languages. Or they just want to save money so they can afford yet another pack of emojis. The world needs more emojis, not native language apps.

No big problem though-there are many options to use except for Reminders anyway.

I’m on Seedish localisation aswell. But according to a discussion on Reddit the same isdue is with Polish aswell.

Henry Ford is supposed to have said the T-ford come in any colour as long as it is black. I guess Tim Cook thinks Shoppinglist come in all languages as long as it is English. Or maybe Apple just don’t care about non-English users any longer.

Good news for the developers of Things and Todoist though. The hype around Reminders is proven to be a hoax.

Can you share which language your device is set? I ask because even updated to 17.1.2, my remains with same behavior, and I have a new phone: all the same. It’s clearly an iOS issue. Today for the 3rd time I contacted support, sent print screen and more info, now I’ll have to wait. Previous “genius” support didn’t answer, didn’t give feedback. Apple is not the same company anymore. System bugs, can’t solve problems, forcing battery degradation with updates, and buggy updates, security breaches, WiFi problems, and go on. Shame on them. Tbh I kind of regret buying a new iPhone, in 7 years using iOS, I’m considering getting another phone not Apple next.

No real point in posting there either though.

I intended to try Reminders fully, and I can live without the grocery list automation. Why I am reluctant to drop the alternatives for Reminders in the end is the fact that Apple does not seem interested in developing for non- English.
