Water droplet no longer present on iWatch

After the latest update/upgrade for iWatch the water droplet for iWatch to place the watch in water resistance mode is no longer there. So simple task like showering, doing dishes cannot be tracked because I’am afraid that I cannot water block the watch. Why hide this feature after all this time. why make it harder to find. why fix something that wasn’t broke..

Apple Watch Series 5, watchOS 10

It is still there in WatchOS 10, but the way you get to it has changed slightly. In the older software versions you probably swiped up to access Control Center. In WatchOS 10 you need to press the Side Button (not the Digital Crown) then maybe scroll to find the water drop button.

Also be aware the Water Lock function doesn't change the physical water resistance of your Apple Watch, it simply locks the touch screen functions so splashes don't get interpreted as touch gestures. It doesn't matter if you dip your arm in water, the watch will probably detect the change and activate Water Lock automatically. However, showering is one of the activities which are not recommended, because the shower soap increases the ability of water to pass the seals, and temperature changes (hot/cold shower) also increase the risk of pressure changes and water penetration.

Can’t find my Water drop after the new update 17.2 recently !

watchOS 10 moved the Control Center from the swipe up gesture, to a quick press and release on the flat oval side button (see picture)

DO NOT hold the button, as that will bring up Emergency services display

If you are having issues getting the press and release timing just right, you can play with

Settings -> Accessibility -> Side Button Click Speed.

I like "Slow". My Wife likes "Slowest". Adjusting this option is also useful when trying to the the Apple Pay double press and release timing just right.
