Safari won’t chromecast

Hi forum

Both my iPads won’t cast to chromecast from the safari-browser anymore.

Network works, and I can cast to my KEF speakers via KEF’s app, but the cast button in safari is simply grayed out, without further eksplanation.

Any ideas?

OS: Newest on both

HW: iPad 2018 and iPad Air 2022

iPad Air, iPadOS 16

The iPad uses AirPlay, made by Apple, while Chromecast is a product from Google, using a totally different technology. Sadly, they don't work together at the moment. However, you can find apps for mirroring in the App Store, for example https://apps.apple.com/us/app/docast-cast-and-mirror-to-tv/id6446948344 Just download one of these apps onto your iPad and follow the setup instructions. They work pretty well, especially since there isn't a built-in option for this.
