on my primary device I have iCloud -> contacts turned off, also handoff is turned off on both devices.
Before iOS 17.0, each of my 2 devices has its private call log & contacts.
After iOS 17.0 on both devices, I started to see the call history of both devices on my primary device.

It's not a bug. If you carry two phones – one for work, and one for personal use – for "security" reasons, then it stands to follow that you should "firewall" your accounts and have two Apple ID accounts, as well.
The call history sharing might be new, but there is all sorts of other sharing linked to having the same Apple ID. Sharing that's been around for a long time. E.g., keychain passwords, photos, contacts, calendars, reminders, notes, and files on iCloud Drive.
iMessages are also linked to your Apple ID, whether you use "Messages in iCloud" or not.
As of this morning my call logs have resumed syncing unfortunately. 17.2 doesn’t appear to have been the answer.
Back to waiting for an actual fix.
My opinion.....Apple is not going to "fix" something that they say is working correctly as expected and designed.

Some of us NEED THIS TO STAY SEPARATED due to the sensitivity of our jobs. Are you going to fix this or should I just buy another brand??
Thank you for the link. Regardless of “proper operation,” this sharing has not been the case in the past and so should not be happening suddenly without authorization.

Nothing to fix. Apple says that things are working correctly as designed.

Please come back in a couple days. You're going to find out this does not work long term as many before you have believed they found this solution to learn it isn't a lasting solution.

I feel this is not going to work based on what I had to do to stop my synchronization and both sliders on my phones have that turned on.
How to solve this problem? Please help. I’ve turned off the phone toggle on my both of the devices. BUT STILL FACING THE ISSUE.
