What music is my AirPods Max playing when not connected to a device?

I can play music when I press the Crown - what is odd is my AirPods Max are not connected to any device. How is this possible?

Hi there Ding0,

Are you sure that they aren't connected to any of your devices? If you check the Bluetooth settings for all of your devices, do you see the AirPods Max listed there? I just figured it out, it was my AppleTV. While playing music in the AirPods Max I turned off every device I own, not thinking the AppleTV would somehow be playing music. The still makes it strange is the music is on my iPhone, not the AppleTV.

As soon as I unplugged power to the AppleTV I stopped hearing the music. I could not play the music again, after having the AppleTV plugged in.
