On iOS 16, the phone would vibrate when I switched from silent to loud (using the switch next to the volume buttons). Now, on iOS 17, it vibrates when I switch it to silent. Is there a way to change this back? I have looked in the Sound & Haptics settings but there does not seem to be an option for this specifically.

Thanks, sounds like Apple have changed it. Why, I have no idea! I've submitted a request for them to give users the option to customise vibration when using the mute/silent switch.
