Sending website links through iMessage

Since the iOS 17 update, links to websites fail to deliver in iMessage. Anyone have a suggestion as to what settings may need to be reset? Please don’t suggest a restart…already been done.

Hey Bob Howard,

Are you having this issue with one specific link or multiple links? Have you tried disabling iMessage under Settings and then enabling it again? You did a great job restarting your device already.

Let's also make sure that you're running the latest version of iOS 17. The latest version is iOS 17.0.2 and the information can be found here: About iOS 17 Updates

If you have an update available, here's how you can update: Update your iPhone or iPad

Let us know how it goes!

Best regards.

Thanks for your answer, Brian. We found that the problem only existed if links were sent to specific people. We disabled iMessage as you suggested, created new message threads, and eventually checked within the individual address books. We noticed the phone numbers in the "send to" options had turned green for some people. We discovered that within their own address books, their phone numbers were gone. We trust that the people involved didn't edit their own address cards and remove their own phone numbers. They are all in some way associated with software development. We suspect that this had something to do with the transfer of data during the update to iOS 17, and if it happens to other people, they should check their contact phone numbers.
