How do I request a refund from Apple?

Hello, could you kindly help with a refund for DB app. I didn’t realize I had subscribed to the app. I haven’t used it. Just tried it for a day when I learnt about the app. But did not use it.

Here's how to request an app or media refund from Apple (From: Request a refund for apps or content that you bought from Apple - Apple Support - see the article for more detail.)

1. Sign in to https://reportaproblem.apple.com

2. Tap or click "I'd like to," then choose "Request a refund."

3. Choose the reason why you want a refund, then choose Next.

4. Choose the app, subscription, or other item, then choose Submit.

If you were charged for a subscription that you no longer want, you can also cancel the subscription using the directions in this article --> If you want to cancel a subscription from Apple - Apple Support

I didn’t Approve or agreed to the five transactions that’s been taken out of my account can I please get my money back

First review the provided links in this thread and report back what you have found out. You will be able to:

  • Review Purchases
  • Review Subscriptions
  • Request Refund

You may be better served finding out how those transactions occurred and may not have realized that you did inadvertently approve them. Preventing that from happening in the future will prevent future headaches:

  • Giving out your Passcode authorizes others to use your device and that includes purchases
  • A Family Organizer is responsible for purchases of family members when they use Purchase Sharing
  • Parental Controls are available to prevent purchases, but they must be used for those who do not want their child making their own purchases. This includes Ask to Buy, Requiring Password for purchases, Preventing in-app purchases, and preventing any app from being downloaded. Each family dynamic is different and all Apple can do is provide you the tools to tailor it for your needs.
  • Purchases made outside the App Store are not managed by Apple. Be careful about ads that you may see on Social Media sites that direct you to a page where they will convince you to make a small purchase and then sign up for a subscription inadvertently. These can only be cancelled with that developer. You will not see these charges when viewing your Purchase History or Subscriptions made in the App Store.
  • A free trial through the App Store must be cancelled at least 24 hours before the trial ends, otherwise you will be automatically signed up for the subscription that was on your screen when you approved the free trial.

Sorry, but this is a user to user support site and you are not speaking to Apple here. You will need to follow the link that has been provided many times in these 3 pages. Remember, all transactions are final in the App Store, but on occasion Apple may provide a compassionate refund. You may be better served in figuring out what happened to those charges and if they were in-app purchases that are not consumables, then you can restore them here:

I sent my money to the wrong person

If you have sent money using Apple Cash, you will have to ask them for the money back. Apple says to never send Apple Cash to someone you do not know. This is the same as any cash transaction such as giving money to someone on the street.

Apple Cash person-to-person payments are like any other private transaction between two people, so only send and receive money with people you know. If you have questions or concerns about a transaction, please contact us.

Only you can control who is authorized to use your phone and that includes making purchases. Apple gives you the tools if you want to prevent purchases on your device and a child's device, but they must be used by you. The only thing Apple knows is that the person has been authorized to use your device and this was verified using FaceID or the Passcode. We can provide more information on any of these tools if you wish:

  • Passcode - prevents access to your device
  • Require Password for purchases
  • Ask to Buy for child's device to approve purchases
  • Screen Time Restrictions to prevent in-app purchases
  • Screen Time Restrictions to prevent downloading apps

Not sure about the details of the purchases you did not make, but if it was due to fraud, you can dispute the charge with your payment method. A police report may be required.

I’d like to receive a refund from apple I have been charged over 18 times in August alone. I’d like you to suspend Apple Music please.

You can delete the app just like you can delete any of your apps. The most important thing to determine is how those purchases were made in the first place.

  • If your account has been compromised, you will need to take action.
  • If your are the Organizer of a Family Plan that uses Purchases Sharing, then you have authorized other family members to make purchases to your payment method.
  • If the purchase happened on your device, you should change the Passcode/Password.
  • It the purchase happened on a child's device you need to use one of the many Parental Controls to prevent that from occuring.
  • Has your payment method been compromised?

By providing the details on how this purchase occurred, we will be able to offer specific solutions to prevent that from happening in the future. You should know that all transactions in the App Store are final, but in some cases Apple may provide a compassionate refund. This should not be expected though.

That can only happen if:

  • Someone knows your Passcode/Password, which you may have given them.
  • You are the Organizer of a Family Plan

In both of those cases, you have given authorization.

  • What did you delete from your iPhone?
  • Who had your phone yesterday?
  • If the charge was a subscription charge, it could have been a renewal and the actual subscription was started a while ago.

If you think your account has been compromised, then of course you should have changed your Password and Passcode to your device.

The refund link has been provided many times here and I suggest you give it a shot. You are still faced with the problem of how those charges occurred and doing nothing about it is not going to prevent future charges. Refunds are not guaranteed, but sometimes Apple will provide a compassionate refund.
