Customize app icons in new iOS update

Just a suggestion to Apple:

it would be great if we could customize our app icons.

(An option that could become available in one of the new iOS updates, because I know this software has the ability to do it.)

The process would be that we could long press any app that we can download from the App Store, and have an “Edit” option that appears.

Then we would be allowed to customize the icon of the app to any of the Apple-approved SF icons and colors already available in the Reminders (similar to when we create a new list in the Reminders app).

This way many iPhone users will have the customization options that they want, and it is all still streamlined with Apple’s aesthetic.

This will allow everyone to truly make an iPhone their own, without Apple have to let side-loading happen (if they don’t want to yet) and reducing the need for users to download 3rd party apps that could compromise an iPhone’s security measures.

Just a thought that would nice (and amazing) to have… and also, one less thing that Android/Samsung can continue to say they have over the iPhone. 🤷🏾‍♀️

Hello JaneEzCuri,

This functionality is somewhat available but not in the way you describe it. This article will tell you how to customize app icons: https://www.macrumors.com/how-to/change-app-icons/.

You could also submit your suggestion to Apple directly: Product Feedback - Apple.
