Bar at Bottom of iPad Screen

There's a bar that appears at the bottom of my iPad (iPad Pro 10.5") screen when I am using my detachable keyboard. It has "Done" in one corner and the usual edit prompts in an inset bar at the bottom middle. It interferes with viewing my screen and provides, so far as I can tell, no added function. Is there any way to disable this bar? I find it very annoying. I am using iOS 16.something (the one right before iOS 17), but it has appeared only recently, in the last few updates. Thanks for any help.

This is the bar that is invoked by a “Find on Page” action. Tapping “Done” should cause the bar to disappear.

Are you able to post a screenshot (suitably redacted, using markup tools, to remove any personal or sensitive information)? With a better understanding of precisely what you see, contributors here will be better able to offer appropriate comment or guidance.

It appears when using a browser app, specifically Firefox or the new Vivaldi, but not Safari or DuckDuckGo. I have not noticed it when using other apps (SpanishDictionary, Washington Post, e.g.). On those, just the small editing bar appears.

The bar does disappear as soon as I press "Done," but it was not invoked by a "Find on Page" action or inquiry. However, as soon as I click back on the page, the bar (including the "Done" returns to the screen.
