Can't select AirPrint Printer after iOS 17 Update

I cannot print from my 1phone 15 on any router it reads the printers but when I push print it reverts to no printer selected. I have shut off and restarted the router, computer printer and IPhone and reset the network connnections. Same problem I was going to reinstall the latest update but I don’t have the option to delete it. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you

When I try to print the “no printer selected” is displayed, when I select the printer it starts to connect but the no printer selected comes back.

My wife and I both have iPhone 11 and we also have an iPad. Both hers and the iPad print, but my iPhone doesn’t as per above. Software is up to date on all 3 devices - 17.1.1

Firmware update and Norton is NOT a solution. My 10 year old Samsung laser has no more firmware updates to install and I don’t use Norton. So Apple messed this up!

If it’s any consolation, you’re not alone. This last weekend, my phone showed an auto update coming, seemingly nothing out of the ordinary. I let it do its thing, as usual. Monday comes and I try to do a simple (remember how easy “simple” used to be?) type and print. Won’t connect to the printer any more, and so far the things that worked for others isn’t working on my not-new-but-otherwise-splendid HP Envy 5540. It’s beyond frustrating for non-tech-advantaged folks to have to spend hours trying to figure it out.

Thanks for posting the instructions on updating the firmware. Canon's user manual doesn't tell you how to do it. I called their support they were clueless. I followed your instructions on my ImageClass MF249DW and printing works again. I still hold Apple accountable for the CF :)/

I do not want to update my Epson firmware yet because it is letting me use knock off printer cartridges. Once I switch to Epson cartridges I will update the firmware on the printer. I did get Epson Smart Panel to work on my iPhone and now I can print using that app rather than air printer which stopped working with the new software upgrade. That will get me by for now. Very annoying situation. And my work required me to do the software upgrade. 

Does anybody know how to correct the above problem? I’m having the same issue. The only difference is I have a wireless Canon printer and an iPhone 11.

The interesting problem is I can print from my laptop without any problem. Just can’t print from my phone. I could before the updates.

I agree and also don’t understand why this issue so many are experiencing has not been resolved.

I’ve got the issue with an HP 8600 Pro also with current drivers and have the same annoying issue.

This is definitely an Apple issue because only my IOS17 devices have the problem.

Let’s go Apple, please fix the issue

You are a star! Thanks you for figuring this out..I have a Cannon image class laser printer and did as you suggested. Yeeeehaaa…I can now print from IPad and IPhone! I have been irritated over this for about 6 months thinking it was a IOS issue. Nope! Printer issue!

me too, after upgrading my ipad to 17.02. This is obviously becoming a known issue, and apple need to be publishing a fix for it rather than just telling us to wait for another update!

I am have the same issue with Iphone13 updated to IOS 17.0.2 I have an HPprinter and it was working until the update!

Same issue. Select printer, printer deselected on next screen. Powered on and off. iPhone 15 Promax 17.0.3.

printer is Canon D570. My iPhone 11 Pro Max with 16.6.1 works just fine.

I can print to my Epson but no longer my Canon which is my primary printer. iPhone 14 Pro Max with whatever today’s latest update Apple has us installing. iOS 17.0.?
