iPhone photos and messages not indexing after iOS 17 Update

Not sure if my problem is a result of the same thread....Trying to download photos from iPhone SE to PC but instead of recognizing "new" photos the phone wants to download all photos (about 3500), calling them all "new" photos.

Is there a setting I can change to prevent this from happening? Don't want to download multiple copies of all my photos.

17.2 did NOT fix it for me….years and years of iMessage messages, photos, links, & documents not indexed & still unsearchable. Super frustrating we are on a x.2 update with still NO fix. For additional context: I also do not have iCloud messages enabled, so all indexing should be occurring locally anyways…but it doesn’t seem to be doing so!

Hey, Apple guys, don’t you think this is inadmissible??? We are talking about a device that costed 1399€ (not even mention the fellows that bought their iPhones recently…). I’m always praising Apple software above it’s most rival Android, but have to start rethinking this approach.

Hoping that someone at Apple take good care of this problem. Never thought Apple would take so long to solve an issue!!!

I see the 17.1 folks had their issue solved but I updated from 15.2 to 17.4.1 and I’m having this issue now.

I can scroll back and perhaps find photos but who has the time?

Ive tried every troubleshooting answer out there from restarts to logging in and out of iMessage, iCloud, and anything thing else.

Nothing is working. Apple, what are you doing to address this??

The issue started for after the 17.5.1 update on my iPhone 14 Pro (along with, so far, 47 other issues, including the phone often freezing, overheating, apps not opening, battery draining, iCloud and WhatsApp chat backups always failing etc etc).

So far no solution from Apple except an acknowledgment that his update has caused huge issues.

I’ve also noticed this issue. Tapping “One Year Ago” from the Search tab pulls up no results even though photos taken one year ago actually exist.

SAME and I use that search feature DAILY for work - which means without that indexing it’s going to take exponentially longer to do what I need to do. Is there a fix????

I have the same issue, extremely frustrating and disappointing. Why hasn’t this been fixed yet?

Hello, it has not been fixed. With rumors of iOS 17.1 coming this week I really hope it is resolved. I rely heavily on searching in Photos and its been a real bummer since I updated to iOS 17.

My iphone 15PM not fixed yet even after ios 17.1, photos keep indexing, any suggestion?
