How do I lock my watch during a workout? The Lock button is no longer there when I swipe right.

It appears the lock feature during a workout has gone away??

You have to start your workout FIRST.

To engage the lock, Press (but don't HOLD) the flat button (the one on the side flush with the case), scroll down to the water drop and press it. The water drop lights up. Then the screen automatically goes back to the screen you were at within your workout with the stats showing.

To disengage the lock, press and hold the crown button until it clears. Then you can swipe to pause or end the workout.

I do agree it is a silly change for the sake of change. No value add.

Apple does not read this user-to-user technical support forum for feedback.

But you can send Apple feedback via:

If enough users send feedback, it is more likely a decision maker will see it, and maybe take action.

I have a v7 watch running 10.2 and a v14 phone running 17.2.1. I speed skate with wrist guards so locking the watch was critical for accurately logging workouts. I have looked at everything here but nothing locks the watch during a workout. When swiping during a workout why is there a “new” button replacing the “lock” button? Don’t understand the purpose. I have put up with how inaccurate it records (I get gaps so the dreaded grey dotted lines linking times between when it drops and picks up recording) but without the locking function the watch now becomes useless.

The control Panel was available for years by swiping up from the bottom of the watch face/screen. The feature was changed almost a year ago when WatchOS 10 was introduced. How did the feature get changed? One of the contributing factors was the feedback link that is frequently shared in the various communities here in Apple Support Communities. I’ll share it below, and if enough people share their thoughts, there’s a fair chance it could be changed back.
