Text Notifications
Why can we no longer use a downloaded ring tone as a text notification? I was able to do so until the latest updates. The ring tone shows as a selection for calls, but not texts>

We can't do it anymore because Apple removed that ability. No one here in this user-to-user forum would know why.
I suggest that you submit feedback to Apple:
Note that iOS 17 is not yet an option for selection in the drop down menu. Just make sure it's in the text box.
