Where can I find female 30-pin to USB C cables to support audio on iPhone 15?

I have several legacy audio components (Bose Sound Dock, various connectors to car audio) that use the 30-pin connector. There are readily available 30 pin to lightning cables that allow me to use my iPhone 12. I'm just about to get an iPhone 15, and I cannot find any cables (female 30 pin to usb c) that support audio. Any advice?

it seems impossible to find a cable that will pass audio through so best try a Bluetooth adapter such as the Bovee 1000. Can find on Amazon. This connects to a 30 pin connector. There are other similar products.

But my 30 pin connector did not pass power through to the Bovee so I also got a “Xtenzi Charging Converter 30 Pin Pass Through Adapter XT12V5 Compatible with iPod iPhone iPad Car Vehicle” but that didn’t pass power either.

so I then got a “AINOPE USB C Car Charger for iPhone 15, 67.5 W Car Charger” and a USB A to micro B cable …… plugged that into the cigarette lighter socket and connected the micro B end in to the Xtenzi adapter and it worked …… a blue light will flash on the Bovee 1000 to show that you can connect your phone by Bluetooth.

I could then play music and move through tracks using the car’s audio controls (probably there’s an “iPod” option on your car stereo)

everything I mention is on Amazon

Hello,

I don't think that would work, because 2 of the 30 pins in that connector were for analog audio output. https://www.theiphonewiki.com/wiki/30-pin_Connector.

USB-C is a digital connector, and as you can see in the pinout here:

 https://www.delock.com/infothek/USB-3.2_USB-Type-C/images/usb-type-c_pinbelegung_e.jpg,

there are no pins which carry solely audio!!

I can only suggest this item (one of many) that I found on amazon:

30 Pin Bluetooth Adapter for Sound dock, Replace iPod/Phone/JBL/Car, Bluetooth Audio Receiver.

Amazon.com: Smof Premium 30 Pin Bluetooth Adapter for Sounddock,Replace iPod/Phone/JBL/Car, Bluetooth Audio Receiver 3.5 mm AUX Output-Female : Electronics

I help this information helps.

Cheers...

So glad I found this thread as I thought I was going mad! I have exactly the same issue with an Apple 30 pin in a car i just bought. I’m now thinking about a 30 Pin Bluetooth receiver. There seems to be plenty on the market and it’s just a question of which one would be the right one. Also one with a usb charging port which would need a usb to usbc adapter. I’m no techno geek so these are my layman thoughts so please interject and call me out where I’m being stupid.

Try Airdual-100, its a third party "bluetooth" dongle but can use the "made for ipod" protocol and communicate with the cars media head. I have used it on my VW and its works fine with the steering wheel controls etc Audi Audio bluetooth adapter ami mmi 3g system Concert/Symphony, Audi Navigation Plus, VW 3G for RNS, VW Premium 8 systems iPod music interface – Airdual Bluetooth Adapter - Airdual (invery.com). Sadly the airplay dongle was only made for 6 months by another third party who i don't think had permission to use the Airplay protocol.

Same issue . I used to be able to do 30pin to lightning for my Vaistech adapter in my 2004 Lexus LS430. Now, I tried lightning to usb-c and it won’t transfer data. It will charge.

I read an article about how since Apple had the mfi program it ensured their cables met a certain standard of data transfer/charging/compatibility. However, there is no such standard for usb-c. So, not all cables are created equal.

I will likely just have to upgrade to Bluetooth.
