iMac Boot Drive Corrupted after Update
My 2017 iMac's HDD was acting slow for a long time, so I bought a Western Digital SATA SSD and connected it to the computer using a SATA to USB-C adapter. I cloned the iMac's internal drive onto the SSD and made it the default startup drive. For about 6 months, everything was working well and the computer was much faster. Then, I updated to 13.6 (the computer was already running an older version of Ventura). It took about half a day to do the update, and the computer reverted to the internal drive. When I tried to boot from the external drive, the iMac had a lightning symbol on the screen and wouldn't boot. In Disk Utility, the computer cannot mount the SSD. If anyone can help, it would be appreciated as the computer is now unusably slow.
