Siri voice is all scrambled and robotic

I use Siri American voice 5 on all my devices, but when I ask something to my two homepod mini it replies with a very weird voice. It’s like all jumbled up, scattered and incomprehensible. I tried with other voices and it gets even weirder: they all reverts to the basic robotic voice of the old voice over feature. What is going on? Does Siri hate me? Is this the beginning of the war of the AI?! Help!
