They just made a change. To change the watch faces just touch and hold in middle of watch face and it will shift to the mode of changing watch faces and you can slide left and right to your different saved watch faces.

Another change is the up swipe for the control panel has been changed to a press of the lower side button!

Yes, that feature was added in Monday's release of watchOS 10.2.

This happened to me too, push on the crown and scroll down into settings/click into settings and scroll down to clock/once you’re in Clock, scroll down to “swipe watch face” and turn it on. It would be nice if updates came with notifications of all the changes!

Yes, there was an issue. It was easy to change accidentally. I hate that.

And now you have to press and hold instead. Btw press and hold to swipe was possible even before. But to disable swiping makes it harder to change faces.

Yes, it does make it harder. That's a good thing in my opinion.

The watchOS 10 behavior means I’m not getting faces selected at random, so things are working better here.

What a logical place to put a new setting to be able to choose to swipe through your faces, without having to press on the screen ;-)

I found it on my own, but am scratching my head as to why the setting is located there??

Apple DID bring it back! It is mentioned lots of times in this thread.

watchOS 10.2 re-enables left/right watch face swiping

I too had the same problem! In order to be able to swipe to change watch faces you must press the center of your watch to activate. The face will become smaller, then just swipe right or left to get to the face that you want. Then press the center of your watch again to set the desired watch face in place.

Press in on watch face - hold - then swipe

Apples new Update requires you to hold in the middle of the watch face then you'll be prompted to switch between tabs. you can learn more about WatchOs 10 here

It’s not working that way anymore.

just tap one face and hold it down for a second and then slide it to the face you want.

That method quit working for me after recent update to watch iOS. Could not swipe left or right after pressing center. But after I powered off the watch, it started working again.

I wish Apple would go back to a simple swipe to change watch face. I change the face multiple times a day and it’s a pain now.
