Cannot switch Apple Watch faces after 10.0.1 update

Since updating my Series 7 watch, I am unable to swipe left or right to access other saved watch faces. Anyone else experience the same problem and/or know how to resolve?

thanks!

If you updated to WatchOS 10.2, open settings app on your watch (not your iPhone) and look for Clock. Tap Clock and turn on swipe to switch watch faces.

That's a thing? Never happened with me. But it's a pain now. They could make this an option, at least. Something else to send in the feedback

And the idea of changing a watch face multiple times a day never occurred to me before this change. It still strikes me as odd and something I would never do. It just goes to show that how I use a watch is not necessarily the same as how other people do. And vice versa.

Apple has access to tremendous amounts of user data so, I'm guessing they have some sense of how the majority of people use the phone.

Have you read this link to learn how to add faces to your Apple Watch --> Change the watch face on your Apple Watch - Apple Support

Personally, I add faces more easily, from the Watch App on my iPhone and then selecting faces and the complications I want on those faces in the Face Gallery, then hit save when I've customized the face to my liking. Once saved, any and all faces you saved will be accessible directly on the watch.

Bring back old way to change watch face

I have no power to do that. Nor does anyone else reading this forum. You should tell Apple what you want to see:

new way doesn’t work on a consistent basis

I haven't heard that from too many people. Press and hold until you feel the haptic feedback and the screen changes to the edit mode. You can then swipe to other faces.

I often wonder if this support site is just for those of us who are stuck or if Apple ever looks at the comments/issues. Contact them. I doubt they would go back to anything that was working just fine.

This is a user-to-user support forum. Apple's participation is largely limited to make sure people stick to the rules. Apple doesn't read here for feedback or suggestions. They do, however, provide a dedicated feedback portal:

How on earth can you like it more now?? Before you could easily swipe to change face. Without causing any issue. And now you have to press and hold instead. Btw press and hold to swipe was possible even before. But to disable swiping makes it harder to change faces.

There are users, that for whatever reason, find that the watch face keep’s accidentally changing when they do not want it to change.

Those people like that it is no longer a simple swipe to change faces.

These forums have seen some very heated posts about unintended watch face switching.

Now, in comparison, the current UI changes have generated a great deal more heated posts.

This feels like the decision was made via some stubborn executive who didn’t like their face being switched via swipe. Literally everyone hates this update.

Literally, everyone does NOT hate this update. I like it. It resolves an annoying issue.

Please bring it back to swipe.
