Cannot switch Apple Watch faces after 10.0.1 update

Since updating my Series 7 watch, I am unable to swipe left or right to access other saved watch faces. Anyone else experience the same problem and/or know how to resolve?

thanks!

I too had the same problem! In order to be able to swipe to change watch faces you must press the center of your watch to activate. The face will become smaller, then just swipe right or left to get to the face that you want. Then press the center of your watch again to set the desired watch face in place.

Then you haven't updated your watch to WatchOS 10.2. If you had, you open the Settings app on your Watch (not your iPhone), and find the Clock app, which when you tap it, you'll see Swipe to Change Watch faces.

Bring back old way to change watch face

I have no power to do that. Nor does anyone else reading this forum. You should tell Apple what you want to see:

Product Feedback - Apple

new way doesn’t work on a consistent basis

I haven't heard that from too many people. Press and hold until you feel the haptic feedback and the screen changes to the edit mode. You can then swipe to other faces.

How on earth can you like it more now?? Before you could easily swipe to change face. Without causing any issue. And now you have to press and hold instead. Btw press and hold to swipe was possible even before. But to disable swiping makes it harder to change faces.

There are users, that for whatever reason, find that the watch face keep’s accidentally changing when they do not want it to change.

Those people like that it is no longer a simple swipe to change faces.

These forums have seen some very heated posts about unintended watch face switching.

Now, in comparison, the current UI changes have generated a great deal more heated posts.

I encourage you to tell Apple your opinion at

Then why does Apple say it's how you're supposed to do it in their published documenation.

Touch and hold the watch face, swipe to the one you want, then tap it.

Whoever you spoke to was either wrong, or trying to placate you (they're probably sick of this question) or you misunderstood them.

Personally, I find it a welcome change. I hated having the face change accidentally.

The Apple Ultra change watch face did not work by touching the

middle of the watch screen after upgrading to version 10.

I could add watch faces from the iphone but not switch to another

face using the watch.

Rebooting the watch and the iphone did NOT help.

This is for the Watch 10 version of the watch software and 17.1.1

for the iphone SE.

However, I toggled the LEFT vs RIGHT wrist setting and then the

BUTTONS on the LEFT then back to right which flipped the image

on the watch upside down and then the watch change face started

working. Apple has a glitch in their watch software.

I could touch the middle of the watch face and the current face would

shrink and I could swipe left or right.
