Cannot switch Apple Watch faces after 10.0.1 update

Since updating my Series 7 watch, I am unable to swipe left or right to access other saved watch faces. Anyone else experience the same problem and/or know how to resolve?

thanks!

If you updated to WatchOS 10.2, open settings app on your watch (not your iPhone) and look for Clock. Tap Clock and turn on swipe to switch watch faces.

Yeah. It's a drag to lose good functionalities, because most ppl are slow or can't use a device properly

Well, I like the fact that the watch no longer changes faces accidentally. And I am neither "slow" nor unable to use the device properly. Assuming that people who don't use the device exactly the you do are stupid is ..... stupid.

You can say it's not a glitch, but I spent hours with Apple Support the other day, in addition to follow ups from them over the last 2 days and they're the ones that told me "Upon checking with the WatchOS ten you should not need to tap to see watch faces you would just need to swipe left or right to see the watch faces"

Which is true. Did they specifically state that you didn’t first have to press and hold on the current face?

In the phone app, the change exists, too. In the watch tab, there was never the statement, “Set as Current Watch Face.” You just added the faces in the order you wanted them. They are all still there. You can edit them. Rearrange them. But you can only set one as current.

The change is intentional. Maybe the agents you talked to were voicing their opinions ~ or they are not aware of the change.

Steal from people? Don't you think that's an over-the-top description for a minor change in swapping out a watch face? It's not as though you can't change the face anymore, that you're restricted to only one face per watch--like regular watches. It requires one extra step to switch it now.

Good lord, Jeff, don't let this ruin your life.

Apple, like all tech companies, modify their products. Some quite frequently. Have you read the LONG terms & agreements policy prior to (electronically) signing it? If not -- you should. You buy a watch or phone or other device --true-- and you own that, but you agree to their terms for using it. Read the policy.

I prefer the old way too, and I hope they'll change it back. But in the meantime, I know how to roll with the punches. Life throws a lot of punches far worse than this. Toughen up.

Those are false equivalencies, frankly. At least the GPS and insurance policies examples are.

As for the Always On feature--the earlier models didn't have that. So, yeah--it was a new feature that some people didn't like. Now I see in this latest update you CAN change that to 'off.' You have the choice.

Again, nothing has been "stolen" from you. You can still swap out faces. It just takes an additional tap or two. If this had been the method all along -- you'd think nothing of it.

If something as minor as this bothers you so much, I shudder to think how you react to major problems.

Honestly, all I can think of saying is -- get a life.

And no--I don't work for Apple, I never have. I'm a retired old lady who--like everyone else here, came on this forum to inquire about this 'change.' I worked in IT decades ago--before it was even known as "IT". I set up LAN and WAN systems for law firms using Unix. I'm sure you've never heard of that platform. Strictly text-based, very boring.

See ya!

No one is talking to you or about you Bob Harris. Sorry for any confusion.

TO: pcniles Apple gave the option to turn off Always On feature. This time they just changed everyone's private property without permission or ability to refuse. You are entitled to your own belief that this is ok. But for me, this is far from ok. And I am willing to bet you they change this back.
