Cannot switch Apple Watch faces after 10.0.1 update

Since updating my Series 7 watch, I am unable to swipe left or right to access other saved watch faces. Anyone else experience the same problem and/or know how to resolve?

thanks!

Why did you Apple, change this? Now its a hassle to swipe to my fitness face to start my excercise. Sometimes even with the new “edit” view it still doesn’t slide?

This is a user-to-user technical support forum. Your fellow users in this forum did not make the changes you are complaining about.

You are pretty entitled to make this about you. I just want the product I bought for features that they advertised, to actually work.

If enough users send feedback, then it will make its way to a decision maker, and they do have the ability to make changes.

You can say it's not a glitch, but I spent hours with Apple Support the other day, in addition to follow ups from them over the last 2 days and they're the ones that told me "Upon checking with the WatchOS ten you should not need to tap to see watch faces you would just need to swipe left or right to see the watch faces"

Steal from people? Don't you think that's an over-the-top description for a minor change in swapping out a watch face? It's not as though you can't change the face anymore, that you're restricted to only one face per watch--like regular watches. It requires one extra step to switch it now.

Good lord, Jeff, don't let this ruin your life.

Apple, like all tech companies, modify their products. Some quite frequently. Have you read the LONG terms & agreements policy prior to (electronically) signing it? If not -- you should. You buy a watch or phone or other device --true-- and you own that, but you agree to their terms for using it. Read the policy.

I prefer the old way too, and I hope they'll change it back. But in the meantime, I know how to roll with the punches. Life throws a lot of punches far worse than this. Toughen up.

If you buy a new car and the manufacture decides to turn off your gps. Is that legal? Can a insurance company change my policy? What if Apple decides they want to turn the "always on feature" off next. Or maybe it would make Apple more money if they sold ads that pop up on our watches.

Lets see, my car’s GPS software is on a DVD player in the trunk. The software needs to be updated by purchasing a new DVD. 2 years of DVD purchases is about the cost of an Apple Watch SE. They can change the software each year.

insurance policies are renewed each year, and operating systems are updated on a yearly basis as will. The insurance company may change your policy at the time of renewal. Computer companies change their operating systems when they are updated. Seems similar.

I’ve seen companies decide to inject ads into existing products and services. Apple has not taken that route.

If enough users send feedback, then it is more likely I will reach a decision maker.

Those are false equivalencies, frankly. At least the GPS and insurance policies examples are.

As for the Always On feature--the earlier models didn't have that. So, yeah--it was a new feature that some people didn't like. Now I see in this latest update you CAN change that to 'off.' You have the choice.

Again, nothing has been "stolen" from you. You can still swap out faces. It just takes an additional tap or two. If this had been the method all along -- you'd think nothing of it.

If something as minor as this bothers you so much, I shudder to think how you react to major problems.

Honestly, all I can think of saying is -- get a life.

And no--I don't work for Apple, I never have. I'm a retired old lady who--like everyone else here, came on this forum to inquire about this 'change.' I worked in IT decades ago--before it was even known as "IT". I set up LAN and WAN systems for law firms using Unix. I'm sure you've never heard of that platform. Strictly text-based, very boring.

See ya!
