Bluetooth Connected, but won't play any sound (Ventura)

(Issue occurred after I updated to Ventura)

I can connect to any device, it'll say connected, however no sound will come out of said device.

I've tried different devices and have confirmed that the devices work with my phone. (Therefore, not a device issue).

What I've tried to resolve the issue:

  1. Restarted my computer
  2. SMC restart
  3. Reset the bluetooth driver through terminal (and then restarted my computer again)

None of the above have worked.

Interestingly, when I go to system settings -> sound -> input (and click the device I'm trying to connect to) - the sound will come through. HOWEVER, the moment I exit the 'sound' tab, the sound stops playing through my device.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!
