Hi everyone. I’ve recently purchased the new iPhone 15 pro max and it is heating up even when I’m not using it.
I was wondering if anyone else is having this issue or if it maybe a setting that is causing it that I can turn off?
Any advice is appreciated. :)

Hi. I went to my settings and then into accessibility and turned off the voice over.
It was always listening for commands in the background and I think this was what was making mine hot, because since turning off the voice over, my phone has been ok since.

When I am using Mobile hotspot, my phone is heating too much , anyone is facing such issues and got any solution pls share.

i am wondering what options those of us that don’t have physical Apple stores have? We only have resellers here and I bought the 15PM direct:
given that the 11PM I “upgraded” from was doing this exact heating up issues (leaves your hand feeling radiated for hours after it gets THAT hot) I can’t believe this is the case also with a brand new phone. Apple support even suggested buying a new phone when I mentioned my other was having this issue. It was otherwise in great condition. But could function as a cooktop…
With the new phone, I’ve tried draining the battery, updating the software, closing all aps, turning off background refresh, you name it.
I feel that this is a very expensive mistake and helpless in this case

OK..... but how does that help someone? You can labor your point. I can labor my point. And that really doesn't do anything to help someone who is concerned about their phone. We don't need to agree and whether we do or don't doesn't help anyone who may have an issue.
They should take their phone to Apple for evaluation.

Indexing is pretty much what it sounds like... it's your phone going through all of its content (media, email, messages, etc.) and creating an index so that when you search, it can quickly find all of the content that matches your search. If it didn't do this, searching would take a lot longer.
This happens when you get a new phone, and periodically after iOS updates when something changes that requires it. It can be pretty processor intensive, which means that your battery will go down faster and your phone may get warmer when it happens. Depending on how much content you have, it can take several days for it to go through everything. Once it's done, your battery life should get better and the temperature should go down.
All of that said, as I mentioned in my previous post, what I'm experiencing with my 15 Pro seems a little extreme to me to be indexing alone. I've never had indexing cause this much heat on any of my previous iPhones.
