How to put again the duck text sound on iPhone?
In the new update why did they get rid of the duck texting sound??? You can only use it if you put it as you ring tone but not your texting.

Indeed no Duck sound for text sounds, but it is present for Ring tone.

So I can confirm as above stated that some of the text tones are now ONLY available for free via ringtone, meaning you CANNOT use them for your text tones... frustratingly I only found this out when resetting my iPhone to try and resolve another issue, which it did not... however I have found the nearest alternative which is as close as I can get to what I had before... Firstly I screen recorded the now ringtone which I had as a text tone previously... I then followed this guys instructions on how to extract the sound from the video (see link below). My sound recording didn't actually save as what I had named it, and it seemed to get stuck on converting it... but when I looked whilst it was trying to convert it in my files, there had appeared a sound file... which was the file. I simply renamed it and then I emailed the file to myself and changed the extention to an m4r. and then went to itunes to copy and paste the file into my tones folder on my iPhone (with the iPhone connected via cable)... and wala, I can now use this sound as a text tone once again... for me it was the Duck sound, as I have ALWAYS used this as I love ducks and I always know its my phone as no one else I know uses it. Anyway it worked pretty well and it sounds exactly the same as before. Not quite sure why Apple took away the sound from text tones, but when do we ever know why Apple do some of the things they do? Maybe one day it'll return, but least this has solved my issue. Hope this helps someone!

Correction:
If you are still using iPhone 6S with iOS 15.7.9:
Go to -> Settings -> Sound -> tap Text Tone -> scroll down - not 1st Classic, but scroll all the way down to 2nd Classic.

Make my ringtone a duck quacking
Duck is still available as a ringtone. Settings>Sounds & Haptics>Ringtone>Classic>Duck.
Duck is no longer available as a text tone.
iOS 17.1 reversed this crazy decision.

Cannot get the duck sound on my text only on incoming calls. What a total waste of time even looking at the answer answers. You never answered anybody you never helped anybody. Nobody is happy so why did you take the duck sound away for texting? Just keep doing what you wanna do you don’t care about us.
The person to whom you're replying asked the original question. Why do you think they should have answered? They were LOOKING for answers.
If, however, you mean Apple, your imprecations are equally pointless. Apple doesn't participate in this forum much beyond making sure we all follow the rules. The only questions they answer directly are ones related to safety. This is a user-to-user forum.
Most people don't care that the duck sound is no longer available for texting. Those that do care, like you, have the option of downloading one from the iTunes Store.
The Duck sound for text sounds is free, see my screenshot.

I want to be able to keep the duck sound as a text alert. How can I do this?
You will need to buy or make your own text tone. There is a "Duck Quacking" alert available in the iTunes Store.
That one sound Duck, yes is not available any more as notification.
🪦
However the 17.0 change which would not allow ringtones generally as notification sounds was reversed.
I can use purchased “Bad Guy” ringtone as a text tone now, that was not the case in 17.0
I chatted with Apple support and they told me to submit feedback at http://apple.com/feedback. Hopefully they’ll bring it back!! I don’t want to have to get used to a new text sound after over a decade 🦆🦆🦆
You are not talking to Apple.
This is a user-to-user site. We are all users here......just like you.
Apple is not here, they won't see your comments.

how do I get duck sound back?????
You buy or make your own text tone with a duck sound.
why should I have to pay for something that was there and fine??
Because it's not there anymore, and you want it. If paying for it seems so horrific, use one of the available free tones and accept that your phone won't quack when you get texts. I'm sure the people around you will be grateful.
Hi!
Here to help!
And also: wow. Did not expect a duck-question :)
Apple changes a lot over time - if you think the sound should still be available, please contact applecare.
However; it could also be "works as designed" - maybe Apple let go of the duck sound?
If you ned more assistance, let me know - or conbtact AppleCare.
Kind regards,

If you purchase one ensure it is under Alert Tones not ringtones.
Yes this came is very late with iOS17 public release.
but not for text alerts. Since ios17 RC, ring tones cannot be used as alert tones
