iOS 17 Cannot Scrub Video Anywhere on the Screen

Before updating to iOS 17 I could scrub through a video by holding and sliding anywhere on the screen to move a few seconds to minutes forward and backward. It was a great feature that saved a lot of time from finding the marker on the bottom time bar and carefully moving it to the desired location. Before this feature there was also a way to finely control the timeline by holding the bottom bar and sliding upwards to scrub faster or slower, but now that feature is gone too and it is very hard to skip to the desired place or peek a few seconds back/forward. Is there a way to enable that setting or is it removed from future updates? Thanks.

This was such an amazing feature and sadly has been removed from the latest iteration of iOS. I ended up downgrading to ios 16 simply because of this. well, let me rephrase - I upgraded to ios 16. I hope more people can raise their concerns so apple is listening and bring this feature back.

This change also caught me by surprise. Removing the feature is a big downgrade. There needs to be some way to quickly skip through videos. Double tapping for shipping forward or backwards like the YouTube app does it would also be ok for me as an alternative. But currently there is no way to do it without bringing up the overlay.

This was a poorly thought out change. The reversion is dated and backward thinking. Scrubbing a video should be fast and intuitive. Make it a setting that can be turned on or off at the least. Bring it back now.

This feature needs to come back please. Even if we need to opt in to use it via a setting toggle. Video scrubbing just seems natural and doing it via the progress bar is too cumbersome in comparison.

I'm experiencing the same issue, and it's quite frustrating. I don't understand why it was removed. Instead of enhancing the user experience, Apple seems to have compromised it in the default video player. We need additional features like video scrubbing, the ability to adjust video volume, and control brightness using the scrubbing gesture.

this is muust have feature , i dont know why this is removed..i came from android and there it was working very well. in small time , i could see the whole video . Now i have to se the whole content .. waste of time.

I’m with everyone here! Why would you downgrade this function. Along with double tapping to zoom! That seemed to disappear with ios16.

BRING THIS BACK FOR THE LOVE OF GOD!!!! Genuinely the only feature in a long time that I loved. I just upgraded to IOS 17 and hate it. You guys flopped on this one
