When I attempt to install the update to my Apple Watch I get an error. I’ve tried multiple times.

That’s the issue. All instructions are followed but the update errors out.

iPhone XR, iOS 16

Hi AppleWatchError,

You don't mention what the specific error is as you've tried to update your Apple Watch. One thing to make sure of, is if you are trying to update to watchOS 10, you've also already updated your iPhone iOS to the latest version. iOS 17.0.1.

Update your iPhone or iPad

Then, if you still have an issue updating your Apple Watch, try the additional tips outlined here:

Update your Apple Watch

Try these steps:
1. Make sure that your Apple Watch is connecting properly to its charger
2. Restart your Apple Watch.
3. Restart your paired iPhone.
4. Try again to update your Apple Watch.
If the update won't start:
1. Open the Apple Watch app on your iPhone.
2. Tap General > Software Update.
3. Delete the update file.
4. Try again to update your Apple Watch.
Learn what to do if you see 'Cannot Install Update' when updating Apple Watch or if your Apple Watch says you need more available storage to install a watchOS update.

Take care.
