I keep accidentally ticking reminders off as completed on my iPhone 14 Pro Max

I have the new IOS17 interactive widget on my Lock Screen . I keep accidentally ticking reminders off as completed by bumping them while handling the phone. Ani ideas on how to prevent this? Thanks

Me too. When I'm trying to access Reminders from the widget, tasks are accidentally get checked as done. Really poorly thought out by Apple.

I've had the same problem. To the point that I have removed the interactive reminders widget from the Home Screen entirely. It's way too easy to mark something completed with it.

I've sent feedback to Apple about it. At the very least, it there should be an option to require a long press to mark a task completed or something.

That's the only real negative thing I've run into with 17 so far.

There’s a setting under Face ID and Passcode that allows you to turn off access when locked for lock screen widgets. It does not work well or consistently.

It blocks the preview for my widgets and won’t let me open my weather and fitness widgets without Face ID…. but i can access my alarm widget from the locked screen still….. meaning i’ve accidentally set many a false alarm. Really basic stuff that had persisted as an issue for far too long, right up there with the flash light issue. Seriously frustrating. All i want is to know when my next alarm is. On days like this I miss my android phone.

Hey I was extremely disappointed with this new feature due to what you have mentioned HOWEVER I've found what's probably the best fix for now:

I created a shortcut in the shortcut app to my specific reminders list and added that to the home screen. Now when I tap it, it just opens my list then I can add or remover freely. The only downside is you can't read your list from the lockscreen however this is something I have adjusted to.

Now I know the reason for Amazon removing the tick from their Reminders, I've been trying to find out for well over a year why Amazon removed the tick from reminders and now I finally got an answer to my question. As a result of all those people who kept accidentally removing the tick from their Reminders, Amazon decided due to the high level of complaints they decided to remove the tick altogether making it worse for those of us who never accidentally removed the tick from Reminders. As a result of all those who complained to Amazon, it is because of those who complained that made the service worse and now we can no longer pause a reminder until the following day as we used to be able to do. And if you do manually pause Th reminder there is a high probability that you will forget to turn it back on. So a big THANKS to all those who complained to Amazon and made the vice worse than it was before. 🤦‍♂️👍

I wasn't aware that Amazon had a reminder app of any kind. And, even if they do, that's something you want to complain to Amazon about.
