Battery's "Maximum Capacity" percentage - what to expect?

I'm curious -- what should one expect to see for "Maximum Capacity" percentage on a 16" MacBook Pro, Apple M2 Max after just 7-8 months of use? Does it drop off fast ... like a new car's value dropping the moment you drive it off the lot?
