The new ios17 swapped the locations of the mute and speaker buttons. The speaker button was on the left side of the screen. Now it’s on the right. Can I customize the calling screen buttons? I’d like the speaker button back where it was.

If you bothered to read past the first post, you'd have learned not one person on this user to user only forum which no one from Apple participates can grant your wish. So, it's not that simple as we can't change anything. You'd have also seen a feedback link posted multiple times, which you can use to tell Apple what you think they should do. Use it if you want Apple to know your thoughts.
But Kshep123 is right. You need MUTE more often than the Audio button. MUTE should be closer to the thumb than Audio... This change is dumb.
My guess is they did it to cater to the right-handed people. I'm a leftie and hold my phone with my left hand, so for me the Mute button is now a long stretch...

I also want the speaker button back where it was. I use it the most and can not reach it holding in one hand and stretching thumb. Easy to Drop and break phone. Probably what apple wants to happen.
What was the reason for switching the speaker to the left and mute to the right on the phone?
Well, it doesn’t work very well with people who have small hands and the majority of people are right handed, just saying.
