WiFi icon missing after iOS 17.0.1 Update

Greetings, after updating my iPhone 13 Pro to IOS 17.0.1 I've noticed some strange behavior on the iPhone, when coming off Standby Mode the signal and WiFi/cellular icons are missing from the top right of the screen but they come back after launching an app only to disappear again after returning to the main screen, restarting the iPhone brings the icons back.

Also the iPhone does not charge to 100% consistently after the update while on Standby Mode today after an 8 hour charge it only charged to 94%.

Thank you.

My new iPhone 15 is not showing the Wi-Fi icon when it's connected to my Wi-Fi network. I can see it's connected via Settings > Wi-Fi but the icon is no longer showing. Is this expected behavior now with iOS 17?

Same here with my iPhone 13 running latest iOS 17 SW. It happens pretty randomly. Some apps bring the cellular and WiFi symbols back (such as safari which I’m using right now). But they’re always missing from my Home Screen unless I restart my device. After restarting, they’ll be there for a while but will eventually disappear again.

Same here.

The cellular and wifi icon on the top right corner sometimes disappear when in app, or in home screen, it just random in occurence. Sometimes appearing just fine after locking the phone and unlock it again.

Got 13 Pro Max running 17.0.3 (just updated today), and I start noticing this behaviour since yesterday when it still runs 17.0.2, probably already doing this since earlier version of 17.

I just had the same issue on my 13 Pro Max - fixed by updating system to iOS 17.1.

Could also try soft resetting your phone (press volume up key, then volume down key, then hold power button until you phone switches off and you see the white apple logo appear on a black screen).

Hope this helps.

For me, turning off WiFi assist seemed to do the trick. I didn’t have the WiFi icon on the top of the phone screen, but I was still 100% connected to WiFi. Turning off WiFi assist kept the phone seemingly with the icon as well. WiFi assist is in settings, cellular, then scroll all the way to the bottom. Turn it off.

I tried shutting off wifi assist and it didn’t help. I know I can shut off cellular use in settings but then I’m always afraid I’ll forget to turn it back on when leave the house etc. I just don’t understand why there has been no fix - I just got the 15 pro and it has all updates and beta. I know I have unlimited plan but don’t want there to be reason to slow my phone down ..
