iPhone 15 Pro Max on iOS 17 Not Working on Sync 3

Just got a new iPhone 15 Pro Max running iOS 17 and it will not connect to CarPlay on my 2019 Lincoln Nautilus with SYNC 3. Any ideas? Using a USB cable to connect. Bluetooth only allows use of the phone and Siri, no apps.

And it seems older CarPlay models too as it does not work on my 2017 Bentley Bentayga either.

So, had issue with iPhone 15 pro max running iOS 17.x on sync 3. Using USB, phone cycles connect/disconnect but does not actually connect CarPlay (although very rarely, randomly, it did). My sync 3 was running v2.4 software. I finally managed to upgrade it to software version 3.0 software and it now works fine.

upgrade process was painful and needs a very particularly formatted system usb stick.

Same problem here. IOS 17.3.1 now and still no fix. Ford Kuga, UK, Sync 3, software version 2.3. The phone sometimes connects, sometimes doesn't. Sometimes rapidly connects and disconnects as you described. Tried multiple cables, USB C-C with adapter, C-A, low spec, high spec cables, all the same issue.

To try and work out whether it is hardware of software related, I tried to connect my old iPhone 13 Pro (now my daughters), Lightning to USB-A running 17.2.1 - same issue. So it does seem to be an iOS 17.x.x issue and not a hardware / USB-C specific issue.

Any response from Apple on this???
