I want to use my $600.00 iPhone paperweight.

i purchased a phone while on my daughters Xphinity Family plan. She went crazy during Covid and I left the plan but I still have my phone. She will not release the phone from the Xfinity service which she cut me off of the phone is in my name but I cannot switch it to another provider because she won’t release the phone here’s the question can I put my Sims card from the iPhone I am currently using into the Xfinity phone and carry-on

I was not suggesting being dIshonest.

I was suggesting that IF it is possible for someone else to use the phone as an Xfinity-locked phone with their own Xfinity-locked account, you could sell it for that purpose with full pre-sales disclosure of of the restriction. I’m guessing the buyer would want a large discount in exchange for the phone being carrier-locked. So you would not be getting $600.

But maybe even that is not a possibility. If Xfinity chose not to offer service to anyone except your daughter, then the phone really would be a paperweight as a phone; it would basically be an iPod touch.

Thank you, that isn’t going to happen. Tried to reason with Xfinity in August of 2021. They said it was up to my insane daughter to release it. She won’t even give my cards and presents to my Grandson. I guess I have a $600.00 back up to play Clash of Clans on. I will forever bad mouth Xfinity it sucks! Best advice don’t agree to join friends and family to save money, it could bite you later. You may own ghe phone, but who ever owns the provider account ultimately can take it away.
