Broken iPhone 12 pro max screen, trapped photos

IPhone 12 pro max was severely broken. My cloud was full and I had not upgraded storage so my photos were not backed up anywhere. I added more cloud storage using my iPad but my screen is completely shot. Apple store said they can't replace the screen because the back glass is also broken? I don't understand that, can't both be replaced?

I need some way to extract my photos without being able to use the screen at all. Please help 🙏 😢

You won't be able to access the device without a working screen. If you had been making iCloud backups, and if your device was not restarted, you might be able to get a sync going just by connecting the device to power overnight. However, if the device has been restarted, battery dies, etc. that will not be possible.

Backups are the only way to indicate that data is valuable.

If you have iCloud Photos enabled, your photos are already in iCloud.

If you have no iCloud Photos, but do have iCloud backups enabled, your photos are in the backup.

If you have no iCloud Photos and no backup and no working display, then your sole potential option is a repair.

A repair which might or might not preserve your photos, depending on the scale and scope of the damage.

Without that display and that input, Bluetooth and the rest are entirely the same as an attacker’s efforts to hack into your data, and are blocked.
