When you restore and update your iPhone 14 pro, does all of your data stay on the phone?

I have been locked out of my phone for 2 hours and I have forgotten my password. I connected my phone to my laptop and used the restore and update method. Im wondering if all of my information on my phone will stay there or will it be gone forever?

"Restoring" a phone is another way of saying wipe it completely, so the data that is not sync'd to iCloud will be wiped.
