My iPhone Card reader is not working, it does not read card and many times the payment feature glitches

Multiple times my phone does pay on the card reader, probably due to an NFC issue. Out of 10 times it does not work 4 times. Additionally if I place a card on the back of the iPhone to read, it doesn't read that either.

why can't I tap my Apple Card on a card reader? My other cards allow me to just touch the card reader to make a transaction, but my Applecard does not. You would think that Apple would have a card to do that.
