Messages missing contact name
Frequently an incoming SMS message from a contact is missing the contact name when received by Messages

Hey positraction,
This can happen when you need to update the format for your contact's telephone number in their contact card in your Contacts app. You should blend able to easily resolve the issue by saving the number that appears under their contact card on your device.
- Tap the number showing for them in Messages
- Tap the "info" icon
- Tap "Add to Existing Contact"
- Find the name of the person in Contacts and tap to add that number to their contact card
- Tap Update
You may notice that it is formatted slightly different than the number you have saved for them now. For example, maybe you have 5555555555 and now it shows +1(555)555-5555.
If you're still getting number only messages from this contact after updating the formatting of their number, Please contact Apple Support for more advanced support options. You can connect from the Get Support portal in most countries.
