Can I connect a sim card to an Apple Watch not designed for SIM cards?

I got an Apple Watch for Christmas but I chose to get one without a SIM card, well a design that can’t have any, I believe. Now I can’t stop thinking about the fact I should have gotten with a SIM card, and my question is can I connect a SIM card to an Apple Watch not designed to have with SIM cards? Is it possible?

Apple Watch SE, watchOS 9

No. A GPS only watch does not support any sim card, and has no way of adding one. It also lacks the Cellular hardware, so even if you could some how add a sim card, there is no hardware inside to connect to a cellular network.

Your only option is to sell this one, and buy a cellular model.

If the Apple Watch has a Red Ring ⭕️ on the Digital Crown, then the Apple Watch has a cellular radio and uses an eSIM that you get from your iPhone cellular provider (assuming your iPhone cellular provider supports the Apple Watch).

You CANNOT use a physical SIM. Just an eSIM

If you have a GPS Only Apple Watch (no Red Ring on the Digital Crown), then the Apple Watch does not have a cellular radio, and it depends on the iPhone for cellular access when away from home. NOTE: the GPS Only Apple Watch can do everything the cellular model can do AS LONG AS the iPhone is nearby.
