Call from Apple Card - while application is under review

Hi,

I received a call from a number asking me to call back - which matches the Apple Card Support number.

I had a question - that is - my Apple Card application is under review. I submitted my documents as asked.

Is it normal to receive calls while my card application is under review?

I called back and was asked the last 4 digits of my SSN. Is it safe to call back and provide my last four digits of my SSN?
