Keynote screen crop

Whenever I create a keynote in full screen, 16:9.. for some reason, it crops the screen on my Smart display. It doesn’t matter if it’s from my MacBook or my iPad Pro (M2).

I’ve changed the aspect ratio, and played with all of the display settings. No matter what I try, I can’t get rid of this crop. And I hate it.. Please advise.

MacBook Pro 14″, macOS 13.5

Find out the display pixel resolution of the external display

set that as a custom slide size in Keynote

also use it as the output resolution on the MacBook: Apple menu System Settings > Displays
