iPhone not listed on Finder

I need to backup my iPhone 11 Pro to my MacBookPro. Both devices have up-to-date operating software. Finder does not display the phone in Locations. I have tried to connect the 2 devices with both cable and Bluetooth. I have restarted both devices several times. I have changed cords and ports several times. I have read numerous Apple articles as well as articles found on the web and none of the solutions have helped. I was able to backup about a month ago with no difficulty. Thank you!

"iPhone not listed on Finder:Thank you for sharing your knowledge and for the quick response. Your option A, Restart the Mac after having just connected the iPhone worked for me so I did not need to work with options B and C. The proper order of connection followed by restart of the Mac did the trick."

You are welcome. Glad that my recommendation worked.

Troubleshooting iPhone-to-Mac Connectivity:

A. Restart the Mac:

Having just connected this, restart the Mac. See if it is then seen.

For reference...

C. Reset the Bluetooth Module:

Resetting the Bluetooth Module may work, if an option. Bluetooth may be in a constant loop of not being able to connect.  Go Here: Use "Reset the Bluetooth module" to Fix Constant Bluetooth Disconnections - User Tips
