Battery heath and heating issue

I bought my IP 14 pro max 256 gb on May 6th. I had 100% battery health until I updated to IOS 17.0.

Just after one day my battery health dropped to 99%. Also I faced heating issues which I barely experienced before. Now my phone also gets hot while charging. and today my battery health dropped to 98%. My phone is currently running on 17.0.1.

Anyone facing the same issue? is something to worry about? Should I take my phone to customer care?

Hi autri2k14,

Thanks for posting in Apple Support Communities.

You mentioned that your battery health has decreased. This is normal behavior for rechargeable batteries. As you use iPhone, the battery will begin to lose capacity.

The time this takes varies on multiple factors such as how iPhone is charged, the temperatures in which it’s charged, the frequency of charging, apps that run, and more. You can read in-depth about this iPhone Battery and Performance - Apple Support.

For the issue with heating, the iPhone doesn't have fans inside the case, so it has to cool the insides by dispersing the heat long the case. You will will notice this with graphics-intense apps and while charging.
