Use the Control Center explains how to open it after installing watchOS 10:

"To open Control Center, press the side button (for watchOS 9 or earlier, touch and hold the bottom of the screen, then swipe up). You can open Control Center from any screen."

Yes! This is a pain. Please change it back! Why, with each update, does it seem things are changed for no other reasons than just making a change. It gets to the point I don’t want to update anything!!

The change was not "for no other reasons than just making a change". Apple put a new feature, one that didn't previously exist, in that spot.

Change is inevitable. Learning to roll with it is a skill that will serve you well in life.

Good discussions here- definitely proves “different strokes for different folks”

100 % in agreement with Segrato…

i definitely prefer the swipe, much easier, no brainer…

kinda matches the easy swipe on my iPhone- who would have thought the swipe for control center on the watch would disappear after the swipe became so prominent on the phone

Oh my goodness, of course I don't think you are lying!

It just seems that the feature you are able to use is either not available on all models, or there is a setting somewhere that is different between your setup and mine ( and the 2 other apple watches in my household that can't open control centre with siri).

Hopefully others find my comment useful - that individual features of the control centre can be activated via Siri.

Still no way to get Siri to open Control Centre on watch ( or phone).
Best I can get at this stage is to ask Siri ( on watch) to perform certain Control Center functions:
Find My Phone
Turn on Flash Light .... etc.

Apple watch SE, 3 years old, WatchOS 10.2.
Side button on phone not working so can't use this to get to CC.

Opening Control Center on the Apple Watch using Siri.

watchOS 10.4: the dreadful Dumb Stack is still there(and still empty and i'll never fill it), have some common sense Apple! just because you moved Dumb Stack doesn't mean i'll ever give it a purpose(don't push things on people in other words)

But you can send Apple feedback via:

If enough users send feedback, it is more likely a decision maker will see it, and maybe take action.

FYI: watchOS 10.3 is the current most recent Apple Watch watchOS version. I assume watchOS 10.4 is a typo.

I can’t access the control centre at all now 🤬🤬🤬

Swiping up was easy but my side button is all gummed up and doesn’t work. Frustrated as I ping my phone LOTS!

I also clear the water/sweat out regularly using this function.

Furthermore I have a protective cover on my phone that renders the side button unusable even if it wasn’t gummed up. Is there a different way to access control centre or haven’t you considered these scenarios?????

This is. Ridiculous change, why change something that worked so easily? This is such a not user friendly change. If you press too hard it goes to SOS. Please switch it back!

In my opinion, it's even better now. Before, you could only access the Control Center from the watch face. Now you can access it from any screen. So, same number of steps but greater access.

I think it should be put back like it was. Was so much more convenient. Leave good enough alone

However, if everyone left everything alone, you would still be using a hour glass to tell time ⏳

Please revert back to pre 10.4 update and return the Control Center back! Why make added steps, to do what one swipe used to do? It’s dangerous like when driving. Sigh.

It's exactly the same number of steps as before. Before, it was "swipe, tap"; now it's "tap, tap". Both of those are two steps.

And, this is a user-to-user support forum. Apple doesn't read here for feedback or suggestions. You can, however, let them know your thoughts here:
