No more full screen video scrubbing iOS17?

This is a shocking decision and already the second wildly jarring change in scrubbing in 2 iOS updates. Thats like two major changes in one year, neither of them better than the last.

please change this back to the scrubbing that can be done (almost) anywhere in the screen. The functionality of this new scrubbing system is, frankly, awful.

Is anyone ever gonna fix this and bring back the full screen scrub!?

I still cant believe how apple can just get rid of an excellent product feauture without even giving us the chance to choose from an on/off function. Each day that passes and I watch a video on my iphone I get more and more frustrated, this is the most backwards-going ive seen from apple since Steve left us.

This is terrible, I can’t believe this passed user testing! The iOS 17 video scrubbing went backwards like 3 years! Please Apple we need you to bring back the iOS 16 full screen video scrubbing/scrolling! It was the best feature since the side-screen swip to go back a screen. Serious those 2 features were 2 huge things keeping me on iPhone and now one of them is gone.

This is unbelievable!!! How is it possible to remove such a cool feature and not even bring it back on 17.3 where they promised to fix things?! I was a huge fan of this, advocating iphone over android mostly because great features like this. Now it is gone..

Contrary to everyone else, I believe this is a much better. With edge to edge screens, there’s no where to hold the phones anymore without pressing button.

Only disappointed I’m on a older iPhone and will continue to suffer, as I don’t like being a party to Apple’s environmentally-destructive software/hardware-obsolescence release strategy.

I don’t understand why this was removed. I used swipe scrubbing all the time and you made your product less usable by removing it.

why wasn’t this made into a configurable option instead of outright removal?

I really could not imagine why Apple has decided to remove this feature. Such a terrible decision made. If it’s not fixed soon I will purchase a different phone brand. Not gonna put up with this for long.

Totally agree, I am a long time Apple fan but this has reduced my Video watching due to frustration!! this one of the worst changes ever made by Apple, make it configurable (although I don't know why someone would not want this feature) Why have they reduced the usability???

I just upgraded from a 12 to a 15 pro max only to find I don’t have this feature anymore and I can no longer reach across the screen so I can’t do it any other way!

Not gonna lie, the lack of that feature reduced the amount of videos I watch on my phone now.

Well Apple should demote the ux specialist of this decision.

You need to tap screen, then try to scrub via bar meanwhile trying to avoid app minimize or screen smudge/moves. Great ux right?

This scrubbing feature from iOS 16 was great for one handed use. We need this back!

I really liked the iPadOS video scrubbing years ago where you could fast scrub or slow scrub.

I need it back! Please T_T
