Apple Watch battery not retaining charge after OS10 update

I have an Apple Watch V5 where the battery used to last at least 24 hours. This has been reduced to just over 12 hours since updating to OS10 on the day it was released. I have rebooted the watch, which made no difference whatsoever. In fact it now takes longer to reboot also.

Hello Budgie58,

To increase your Apple Watch battery life, we would recommend reviewing these resource and implementing these tips:

On the Apple Watch Series 5 you can check the battery health capacity with these steps:

  1. Go to the Settings app on your Apple Watch
  2. Tap on Battery

It should show you the battery health capacity here. If it's at or below 80%, then we would recommend replacing the battery: Check your battery and charge your Apple Watch

Replacing the battery would give you a longer battery life and quicker start up time.

You can use this to search nearby for locations: Find Locations

This can prepare you for that visit: Get your Apple Watch ready for service

We hope this helps out.

Take care.
