iOS 17.0.1 on iPhone 13 losing iMessages, background changed and apps crashing

I updated to iOS 17.0.1 last Friday, Today I have had apps crashing, like Lorex security cam, Facebook and Solitaire. Then my wallpaper image changed to black from my personal image, even though the wall paper setting still shows my original image as the default!I I changed it back. Followed by the random disappearance of iMessages from recent threads. when I check the Messages app on the Mac, all the messages display but not on the iPhone! Any ideas what is going on here? I logged into my iCloud account to see if there were any issues but nothing obvious.

Hey Bongo-TZ,

There's a few issues to address here.

To start, if you haven't already, restart your iPhone. That can clear out a wide number of temporary issues particularly if its right after an update.

Should the issue persist, if you have multiple apps crashing, we'd recommend checking for updates to those apps for iOS 17.

Regarding the wallpaper, is that an issue that has now been resolved, or are you able to replicate it?

Finally, with Messages, did you erase your iPhone and restore an update when updating, or did you just update through Settings?
