Deleting default voicemail greeting.

I’m trying to delete the default voicemail greeting on my iPhone 8 plus.

I had asked for help from a family member Who recorded a greeting using my name, but for some reason, when I try to get rid of that, and use the custom, setting to record my own, it won’t let me. His voice now appears on both the default, and the custom setting. I’m running iOS 16.7.

PS: I can record my message, and immediately replay it, but as soon as I click “Save”. only to come back later to find my

greetng has been overridden with the original false deep voiced. message which now means I can no longer use my voicemail without being able to start all over again.
