siri on device not working on Apple Watch ultra 2

I went on a trail run with my Watch ultra 2 which has Siri on device. I asked Siri to skip a song, shuffle the playlist and for both commands she couldn’t do it. Her answer: “ you need an internet connection”. Is this a feature coming later?

I was able to fix it by unpairing the watch and pairing back but the important detail is to NOT RESTORE FROM BACKUP and CHOOSE THE INSTALL AS NEW WATCH option.

I am really frustrated to see above that Alma the "community specialist" is telling users the feature is not available when it was available the first day I received my apple watch but it stopped working after the following watchos update. So please Alma do not spread misinformation, especially in your position as community specialist, please check with your supervisors before posting about stuff you are not aware....😩

Hey there knarfy,

We understand you couldn't get Siri to work on your Apple Watch Ultra. We'd be happy to provide information to help you out.

This feature has not yet been released. It will be released later this year as mentioned in the footnotes here:

Apple unveils Apple Watch Ultra 2 - Apple

"On-Device Siri with Ability to Access and Log Health Data

For the first time on Apple Watch, Siri requests can be processed on device. For requests that do not require information from the internet, like starting a workout or setting a timer, Siri does not rely on Wi-Fi or cellular networks, resulting in quicker and more reliable responses. The powerful Neural Engine also makes dictation up to 25 percent more accurate.

On-device processing is private and secure, and now Siri can be used to access data from the Health app for health- and fitness-related queries. For example, a user can ask how many hours of sleep they had the previous night, for progress on closing their Activity rings, to start an outdoor run or cycling workout, or make requests like setting a waypoint with just their voice, even with no connectivity. Users can also make Siri requests on Apple Watch Ultra 2 to log health data such as their weight, body temperature, period, or medications taken."

Kind regards.

The offline Siri worked on my apple watch ultra 2 until I updated to 10.1 now it does not work and even online it is not able to tell me what the weather is, it just replies OK. Also not able to turn on and off the Bluetooth, a feature that Siri was able to do before 10.1. Also I was able to start a workout with Siri while offline before 10.1. Now Siri is useless.....😩 😩 😩 please fix this🙏🙏🙏

Hi Everyone, I recently went to Apple and they were able to fix the issue. The problem is the iPhone and it's settings. You will have to reset just the settings, not the entire iPhone. Go to Settings>General>Transfer or Reset iPhone>Reset>Reset All Settings. It will be a pain to setup all notifications, passwords, WiFi, and app logins, but this fix worked like a charm.

You may have to power cycle the watch as well as the iPhone resets the settings.

I am nervous that’s what I’m gonna have to do. Siri was working fine before 10.2 update tonight. Now raise to listen won’t work. Holding Digital Crown brings up the Siri loading symbol but it’s like it can’t hear me. Nothing happens it just sits on the screen not even spinning. I’ve done everything toggled every setting off and on for the watch and iPhone. Restarted both devices. There’s nothing left to try besides reset up the watch. Do you have to reinstall all your apps and Apple Pay cards and all that AGAIN? Such a pain in the *** man. I’m so mad about this. I use Siri ALL THE TIME so it’s a real bummer for me.
