Why is my watch not updating
It said I had an update on my phone and I tried to do it and it would not let me. I was wondering why?

Your post shows Apple Watch Series 6 which is fully compatible with WatchOS 10.x, so the problem must be something easy to fix. Unfortunately you don't mention the exact failure message which would have the answers.

My best guesses will be
Check and update your iPhone software. The latest should be iOS 17.1.x
Remember the Apple Watch must be on charger power for the software update to complete.
