Alarm Haptics/vibration doesn’t work in standby mode

Alarms with vibration/haptics don’t work when phone is in standby mode. I use various alarms without sounds to avoid waking my wife. The vibrations alone are enough to wake me up, but with standby mode, the haptics appear to be disabled.
